Amylee: when plastic art and fashion attitude come to the Bel Ami

• 6 Jul, 2009 • Catégorie: Paris : what's hot?

The Bel Ami hotel has decided to become more Pop this summer in welcoming a young artist, designer, painter, colorist, stager and committed blogger (yes, this is all one person). Amylee pronounced Ah-Mee-Lee) is blending fashion with art through the paintings that se entirely hand-made.

Inspired by famous designers (Galliano, Marni, Eli Saab, Christian Lacroix and Jeremy Scott), Amylee scans textiles, wallpaper and leather in order to incorporate them in her paintings. The result is quite surprising and very trendy: the colors and used wisely and the details are accentuated, reminding the paint drops that are forming dots.

The patterns are giving perspective to the paintings, in order to produce a motion effect when walking around them. These unique pieces are an eclectic wardrobe where laces, sparkles and other items are in perfect harmony with the contemporary red pink and orange setting of the Bel-Ami hotel. Saint-Germain-des-Prés is where you will evacuate stress this summer.
