Certainly South Africa holds many surprises. While the 11th International Jazz Festival in Cape Town will be held on April 3rd and 4th, Hoosta recommends a design gem, rustic and luxurious retreat 200km from the city: the Bloomestate. Because Swellendam is the 3rd oldest city in the country, go to Bloomestate, a guesthouse that looks like a boutique hotel. With its cubic shapes and flashy colors (indigo pool, green and yellow canary for seats), this unique place is to live with your loved one.

Paradise on earth, the Bloomestate is as exclusive and intimate as the surrounding nature. Private, only 14 guests are admitted at a time, distributed according to the 7 rooms located on nearly 2.5 acres of landscaped gardens! Luxury at its purest: no noise, privacy and 4 star luxury. Playing on the seasons and the elements (fire, wind and earth) the rooms of Bloomestate are impregnated with an atmosphere that guides our daily lives: orange is the color of the sun in summer, green for spring, white for winter.

The room that plays with fire displays a bright red on the wall. Each room has a private patio, bordered by fields of lavender (one nice French touch), with a view over the surrounding mountains. As a bonus, Bloomestate excels in the well-being: saltwater pool, Jacuzzi at the foot of mountains, hammock in the garden, yoga and outdoor massages orchestrated by the therapist Suzaan Groenewald. And if the urge takes you to move, escape one day to Cape Town to swing at its most beautiful notes of jazz!
