Carole Blot, general manager of the Cadran Hotel (Paris 7th)
• 20 Jul, 2009 • Catégorie: Paris •Carole Blot is the happy manager of the first gourmand hotel in Paris. As a lively and passionate hotelier, she likes to break the traditional codes of the hotel business. Sparkling and smiling, she tells Hoosta the adventure of the Cadran Hotel.

Hoosta – A hotel associating design and greediness, what an idea!
Carole Blot: It is a great idea by Charles Yamini, new owner of the Cadran Hotel. When Mr. Yamini had started to renovate the place, he wanted this boutique hotel to have a completely new dimension and he wanted it to reflect the area’s life by making it a place where tourists and locals could meet. Then when meeting chocolate maker Christophe Roussel, everything was planned. The idea of making a chocolate bar came up, Christophe’s personality and the colors of his boutique (black, pink and bright green) go perfectly with the refreshing design of the hotel.
Hoosta – The Cadran is playing wisely with the different moments of the day. Which one is your favorite?
Carole Blot: Without any doubt, the evening. The excitement from the day starts to fade out, clients come back from their visiting the city, locals stop by our shop, they take a seat at the café terraces on the rue Cler before going back home. These are peaceful hours of the day, perfect for a smile and conversation. I also enjoy the morning between 10-11am, it is when clients checkout, and the contact is strengthen and our clients’ thankfulness is our best reward.
Hoosta – With different colours in each floor (green pink orange and white), the rooms look like candies…
Carole Blot: Sparkling candies then, like “Mistral Gagnant” (French candies)! The effect is fully felt at the 4th floor; we call it the girly floor. I love the fuchsia wardrobe. When I step out of the lift, I am face to face with a big cow as a morning alarm. The hotel’s new décor blends perfectly all the styles, reminding this floor’s funny and staggering atmosphere, is soften by a dimmed and relaxing light or the hallway. At the 2nd floor, entirely white, it is another atmosphere, much more zen and pure.

Hoosta – Is it an advantage to be the first gourmand hotel in the capital?
Carole Blot: We are the first boutique hotel in the area and the first chocolate bar in Paris. We get the double attention. We do hope that what we do will inspire people and help the 7th arrondissement become younger and modern. The hotel business in the area is good because there are a lot of independent hotels that can find good ideas to attract modern clients. In this idea, we’ve created our blog to help tourist find and explore the city, restaurants and cafés.
