Authentic mill of the XVII century, the Moulin Renaudiots has recently been renovated in the respect of its history, architecture and art. Between a rustic and contemporary style, the interior design looks like the interior of the most beautiful houses of Burgundy. The Dane classical design of the fifties combined to the Dutch simplicity brings to life a place where the wood of the exposed beams, the cement and the stone coexist and intermingle in the greatest harmony. Regarding the setting, there are subtle colors like plum, orange or yellow.

Le Moulin Renaudiots allows you to taste a real local cuisine, sat down at table with other guests in a traditional way. Discover the homemade jams, the fruits, the œufs en meurette, the preserved duck, the galettes with courgette and crayfish, without forgetting the greatest wines of the region. You are warned, at Les Moulins Renaudiots, you will live a real Epicurian retirement.

Hotel du Vieux Moulin : wine-growing immersion in Chablis

The road to the hotel business is sometimes surprising. Michel Laroche, wine-grower, has opened two hotels, one in Burgundy, in Chablis on his land, and another in South Africa. With his wife Gwenaël, he opens a charming hotel of 5 rooms and 2 suites where he welcomes his guests “at home”: the Hotel du Vieux Moulin.

Built in a former gristmill of the XVIII century, the hotel opened its doors in April 2007. Blend of tradition (red brick walls, exposed beams tinted with white) and modernity (leather headboards caramel colour, bowl design), the hotel attracts quickly the discerning travellers in search of authenticity, who came to taste the great vintages of the region.

On the road of the Burgundy wines, the wine bar and restaurant of the hotel is really incontrovertible. You can taste a cuisine made by Gwenaël Laroche who works with the Chef : foie gras grilled with pear and gingerbread, back cod and beans basil cream, Chablis crust ham and spring vegetables, figs crumble.

A little extra : The hotel du Vieux Moulin organizes visits of the Laroche cellar created in 1967. It also offers tastings in the Obédiencerie, former monastery of the XIII century, famous for its old press. An unique room of the local heritage.

Rates : Between 140€ and 240€ for a night. The hotel closes its doors in January and in February and also on Sundays.

Local terrine with sweetbreads and foie gras, braised goose and gingerbread crisp citrus, the “Relais” promises you a delicious meal before discovering Beaune and the antique shops, the Museum of Beaux-Arts and the walls of the Old Town.
