Hafjell Mountain: black run in Norway

What’s the point of skiing on runs when you can ski on the roof of your hotel? This crazy idea came from the Danish group BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group – along with the project of a hotel resort in Norway. With 11,000 square meters and 330 apartments, the Hafjell Mountain will certainly win the award for the world’s funnest hotel. Imagine a giant building separated in different parts and scattered along the valley and you’ll get the outstanding architecture of the Hafjell Mountain. Thanks to its unusual architecture, the hotel is bound to a ski run starting from the roof and running down at the foot of the building. The question of how close the runs are from the hotel no longer needs to come up! However, you’ll have to wait before making this wild dream come true because the Hafjell Mountain is still just a plan.

Nature as a decor

Robin Hood would have turned green with envy in the face of such constructions. Clinging to the rock, ten cube-shaped rooms on stilts overlooking a verdant striking nature. The Juvet Landscape Hotel lost in the Great Western Norway is in perfect communion with nature. Directly immersed in the magical world of fairy tales and legends of Northern Europe, the Troll Road leads to a location where the magic of nature flourishes. The large windows allow the credit to the forest to be the heroine of this adventure. The bare essentials, a bed, a table, a lamp and a chair on the terrace, facing the natural scene fade. A work that changes with the season. Admirable during snow time, the view is incomparable when nature reborns in spring. The glass walls open onto a turquoise river worthy of an epic Tolkien novel. A landscape so varied that each view of the rooms is unique with a different orientation. This hotel looks like a nest which is not to hasten peace.

Molja Lighthouse : retreat in an unusual seaside cocoon

Imagine you on your own or with your partner for a night on a dike, 100m from the ambient noise of Alesund in Norway, and living in a 150-year-old lighthouse. Formerly, the boats entering in the port were guided. It now takes up the appearance of a intimate and cozy hotel.

Known as the “Room 47″, that lighthouse is managed by the Brosundet hotel, near and just as well eccentric. All hotel facilities are available, including The Maki restaurant, well-known for its fresh seafood.

Well fitted out by the architect office Snoheta, especially famous for the buildings of the Oslo Opera and the Museum of Ground Zero in N-Y, the lighthouse Molja which is only 3m wide, has a bedroom upstairs and a bathroom downstairs. Modern facilities perfectly contrast with the rustic and historic interior. An exciting and exalting marine retreat is expected.
