Chic hotel New York: The Standard is a gem!

Higher, the view will be even more beautiful. At a minimum, get a 8th floor view but imagine a breathtaking view over the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty, from your bathtub. It makes you want it? The hotelier Andre Balazs answered yes to this question and made it possible. The Standard is far from the standards and is impressive. The Manhattan skyline bathed in the colors of a blazing sunset contemplates by one of the three windows of the 337 rooms at this hotel unique.

Already a year since the property reopened its doors. Originally designed by Todd Schliemann, it was completely renovated and redecorated by designer Shawn Hausman from Hollywood. The result leaves us speechless. A cozy style while classy. The clean and simple hotel with classic lines offers multiple services: The Standard Grill restaurant, the living room in a subtle blend of cocktails and DJ’s, the Biergarten and its classic German menu, the room service at all times known for the multiple choice menu.

But culture is everywhere in this model of lush modernity. The standART video and the exhibitions add the artistic touch to the place. For shopping enthusiasts, the Standard meets all expectations. You will only have to pack your bag that you brought in the empty shopping paradise that awaits you in the lobby of the Standard. For those who dream of a more sporting activity, the hotel provides bikes for a ride along the Hudson River which is a real treat at sunset. Other exercises such as yoga and gym are on the 16th floor offering a view out of line.

It only remains to take advantage of this minimalist interior where all the bathrooms have bathtubs opened to the living rooms or exposed glass showers. An exhibitionist sexy touch, not for prudish persons. The standard suites are the most glamorous ones. Perfect place to stay classy and romantic in the Big Apple to two.

The interiors were always designed by Shawn Hausman, never by Todd Schliemann. Todd Schliemann, Design Partner in Polshek Partnership Architects is the architect of The Standard, New York and his award-winning design has never been renovated/redone by Husmann or anyone else.
