Claire Gibson is a nearly 30-something who discovered the secret to life’s happiness during her 20-something years. After taking on the noble profession of substitute teaching, she quickly realized that she never had to ask anyone for time off or strategically plan a one week vacation. Using this one benefit to its maximum advantage, she has found herself frolicking in obscure locations across the globe-from Chittagong, Bangladesh to Matewan, West Virginia, and loving every minute of it! More recently, Claire has also learned to appreciate the merits of a steady paycheck and therefore has found a way to combine her passion and her need to pay those pesky bills. Upon recognizing that she fully enjoyed teaching after a year long stint in 6th grade, Claire will finally be certified to be a “real” Social Studies teacher with annual summer vacation as of December 2009! In the meantime, Claire is busy getting ready for a trip to Tanzania, planning her wedding, and living vicariously through the travels of others as she works part-time at a local hostel.
