Five months in Europe, Mamma Mia! Six hour time difference, backpack on, wind in the hair and mist in the eye, it does not change the world, except that …! Two years ago, I took the plunge with my other half. Let’s discover the unknown, the exotic, in others words: freedom. Jaws close, scared to death at the beginning of the adventure, it has been the best thing that could happen to us. When our eyes and our souls are electric, it’s hard to remember only one magic moment. That is why my heart looks back to many treasures, still bubbling up in my mind:
- Stuff ourselves with the best kebabs in Florence.
- Trying to catch a wave in Biarritz while digesting large bubbles of water ingested by accident in a too adjusted wet-suit.
- The salty air of Venice, which remains stuck to our pores wherever you go.
- The human bodies covered with lava and leaving the toe bones appearing, fingers and skull, in Pompeii. A vision worthy of the best science fiction movies!
- The charming British accent in London and the glittering signs of Piccadilly Circus after dark.
Despite a desire to discover in all its glory colours, customs and tantalizing smells that flourish elsewhere, nothing is more enjoyable than travelling locally while cultivating my passion for small things in life that I really enjoy. Then comes into play the endless stream of teeming life of the metropolis of Montreal, a place I call home.
