Courcelles Étoile, Paris 17th: an elaborate and luminous design
• 17 Aug, 2009 • Catégorie: One hotel a day, Paris, Romantic •Calm and peaceful town house, the Courcelles Etoile hotel offers a warm and luminous design. With subtlety, this 40-room boutique hotel alters contrasts between colours and elements, relief and lightings. A true sensorial experience, it offers a different experience in each visit.

Located in the heart of the 17th arrondissement filled with restaurants and animation, the Courcelles Etoiles was imagined by architect/decorator Anne Bruguière-Peyroux (who had started working with Vincent Bastie and contributed to the Bellechasse hotel) in association with director Sophie Charlet-Melloul, who brought to the work her travelling experiences. Each room is unique, organized, decorated, and displayed depending on its volume. Luminous, the setting is sublimated by satin-like velvet duvets in an anthology of shimmering colours (pink-red, mauve, blue, lime green).

What we particularly liked was the Etoile deluxe room, covered by psychedelic textiles by Kenzo. Some moiré textiles with changing reflections are perfectly blended in with the surrounding refinement in order to create a sensitive relaxing space. The bathrooms are charming; some of them are decorated with a small glass stripe, while others have bay windows. An exemplary address for an intimate Parisian stay.

Rates: from 175€ for a standard single room with a shower, from 245€ for the junior suite.
