The Elysées Mermoz Shows Charlotte Puertas

After the successful exhibition of Elodie Boutry who had closed the 2011 exhibition season at the Elysées Mermoz hotel, it’s up to Charlotte Puertas who makes the new year shining.

For her first show in a hotel she has decided to present drawings made with biro and felt-pens (her favorite tools) not to mention watercolors and gouaches in small size. On the demand of the hotel manager’s, Olivier Breuil, she has created a large size acrylic and felt-pen drawing that will be hung on the hall walls.

After Beaux-Arts studies, and the production of an autobiographic short film, “La Vie Dangeureuse”*, shown in several art places, Charlotte Puertas started to work on texture, on material and on track. In other words she works on move. As she explains so well, life and death rhythm her creations: “Tools that I use and mix to make drawings alive, to give personal vision of the world or to create hybrid works [...] bring us back to life in a pure and tortured sense.” The occasion to discover her work, until February 14th at the Elysées Mermoz hotel.
