Gavarni hotel, eco-friendly hotel in Paris

Needless to turn around the pot, green hotels are an exception in France. There are only a dozen in France and one hotel has eco-label in Paris! If environmental protection is a matter of global concern, the commitment to the environment is still far from sticking to the reality of French hospitality.

Located in the very chic 16th arrondissement of Paris, the Hotel Gavarni is a pioneer in this field. Spurred on by its director, Xavier Moraga, the hotel is committed for two years in a long-term ecological, with the project to obtain the eco-label.

For the hotel staff Gavarni, this “green battle” takes the form of a daily struggle against waste. The property is now using four biological household products where before it had a dozen! A device automatically dilutes and distributes these products to avoid overdoses. The waste sorting, recycling of batteries and the use of light bulbs to energy conservation are also part of daily acts of the hotel towards the environment.

This 100% non-smoking hotel, has recently equipped with a reversible air conditioning that works on the principle of two to one (air conditioning in summer and heating in winter), thus achieving economies of energy. In the rooms, the hotel invites customers to ensure the use of lighting and towels. The installation of showers ecological art, who recover and recycle part of the water used, mark a new stage in environmental action by the Hotel Gavarni.

Hard to find yet on the market for local suppliers of organic food products. Xavier Moraga succeeds in spite of everything to offer its customers products from organic farming and fair trade for breakfast.
