Grand Paris 2050: visionnaries for Paris

Ten teams of architects, planners, economists, meteorologists or artists, participated in this “call for ideas “and not at first sight, look like a competition. Since June 2008, each team worked on two projects: “the metropolis of the twenty-first century of the post-Kyoto”, and “the prospective diagnosis of the Paris agglomeration.

The result is surprising, innovative, and sometimes unbelievable. Christian de Portzambac thinks of an elevated railway that follows the device, Jean Nouvel dreams of reaching the sky with huge towers, Antoine Grumbach combines water, iron and the road linking Paris to Le Havre, to provide a port to the capital. Closer to nature, Castro Denisoff proposes a landscape worthy of the Big Apple and its Central Park. A New York in Paris?
