Hotel Fontaines du Luxembourg, or the celestial song of the nymphs• 24 Nov, 2009 • Catégorie: Historical, One hotel a day, Paris, Romantic •
At the crossroads of two worlds, between Odéon and the Latin quarter, 3 star hotel Fontaines du Luxembourg is a mineral and plant journey where travelers in search of quietness prick up their ear to the sweet songs of nymphs. Designed by the architect and interior designer Fabrice Ausset, this hotel from the seventeenth century, is a haven of peace which houses a courtyard full of virgin vine.
An out of time stay where rock colors like a mechanic orange or electric blue, enhance the stairs leading to the rooms. The 30 rooms come in colors of sea green, deep blue and sometimes plum or chocolate, recalling the Luxembourg Gardens. Carpets are adorned with patterns so the visitor has the feeling of walking on a carpet of dead leaves.
The rooms seem to be inhabited by divine creatures, protective to nature. So if leaving your bathroom, you come face to face with a nymph, do not be afraid and let yourself be lulled by her voice, carried in the arms of Morpheus before joining the world of dreams …
