Hotel Le Canberra: live up the Audrey and Marylin dream

While stands the 62nd edition of the Cannes Festival, let’s stop and look at a 4-star hotel that invites travellers to relive the splendour of the early days of the Festival. In a very 50’s atmosphere, the Hotel Canberra decorated by Jean-Philippe Nuel, offers 30 rooms and 5 suites in a glamorous style. A French Riviera atmosphere magnified by the heated outdoor swimming pool, bamboo trees and bougainvillea.

The Canberra features a black and white design for a very “evening dress required”. Dotted with pink, the hotel was inspired by the chic suits of Audrey Hepburn. In the rooms, it’s more a Marilyn style, with their quilted white leather bedheads framed with mirrors. Beds and windows are surrounded by large curtains, specially created by the House Pierre Frey. Under the spray of the French Riviera, the famous white Marilyn Monroe dress seems to dance to the rhythm of the wind.

The bathrooms are also inspired by cinema (rhinestone tiles, black cauldron, oval mirror) a setting of absolute femininity. Pierre Paulin designed the furniture in the rooms, such as the pink orange retro style Slice chairs and the Little Tulip chairs that adorn the restaurant. With the arrival of fine weather, enjoy the bar that opens onto a large veranda and an elegant teak terrace.

Rates: from 130€ for a Tradition room to 500€ for the Prestige Suite.
During the Film Festival: from 330€ to 750€.
American buffet breakfast: 21€.
