Hotel Le Clos Medicis: Luxembourg Gardens, my love

• 20 Nov, 2009 • Catégorie: Historic, One hotel a day, Paris, Romantic

By entering this 3 star hotel of 38 rooms, a nice smell of fireplace tickles your nostrils. Welcome to the Clos Medicis, a boutique hotel near the Luxembourg Gardens. Decorated by Jean-Philippe Nuel, the Clos Medicis has a rustic chic feel, ideal for a warm and comfortable stay in Paris in winter.

The rooms are discreet but friendly, with a subtle and light decoration. We love the beige deluxe room, for its very large terrace overlooking the lovely garden. In summer, breakfast is served in this haven of peace in the heart of the city, surrounded by large potted plants and a stone wall. The bathrooms have a washbasin and a contemporary wengé wood mirror, which add an exotic touch and some softness to the room.

Before you go strolling through the galleries of the rue Jacob, settle into the lounge in one of the leather armchairs in front of the fireplace crackling. Ask the reception for a tea or a coffee and take time to discuss with the team that will not hesitate to recommend you some good places around the hotel. Ask them to tell you the origin of the name of the hotel, where each of the 38 rooms has a name ending in wine …
