Hotel Lutetia: Andre, Josephine and the others

• 27 Aug, 2009 • Catégorie: Hotels and stars

The Hotel Lutetia, the first Art Deco hotel in Paris, has seen many new generation artists from Saint-Germain-des-Pres in the interwar period: Picasso, Matisse, André Gide, James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Josephine Baker … all have been at one of the luxury suites at this hotel famous today for their jazz evenings. Even General de Gaulle spent his wedding night at the Lutetia. As for Albert Cohen, he wrote there his masterpiece, Belle du Seigneur. Unavoidable.
