Insolito Boutique Hotel: a trip into the Brazilian culture
• 13 Jul, 2009 • Catégorie: Brazil, Green hotels, One hotel a day, Out of the city, Romantic, Waterfront •Thought by Emmanuelle Meeu de Clermont-Tonnerre, owner of the property, the Insolito Boutique Hotel is a cultural and environmental homage to the country she so dearly loves. Perfectly integrated into its surrounding environment in order to preserve it, the Insolito Boutique Hotel is graciously dominating the Ferradura Beach in the Buzios peninsula, two hours away from Rio de Janeiro.

The architecture by Octavio Raja Gaba and Luiz Fernando Grabowsky is simply splendid, with a red front with pink reflections. A particular attention has been paid to the outdoors, thanks to light works by Anouck Barcat and Maneco Quinderé and the two soft and salted swimming pools. The most beautiful rooms have a view on the sea.

The furniture is very design and ecologic, thanks to the sofas made out of wild wood and the tapestry made out of recycled rubber. Emmanuelle Meeus de Clermont-Tonnerre has in fact asked for the help of Brazilian young artists and designers like Juliana Llussa that has designed pop and contemporary stickers. A special mention has to be made about the “Outeir da Gloria” room, where rest the famous Portuguese “azulejos”, these small earthenware tiles painted in blue.
