Jia Shanghai Hotel: a design stay in the heart of China

You are tempted to feel like home behind the chic and urban walls of the JIA Shanghai. After all, JIA means “house” in Mandarin…Hidden in a prestigious building from the 20’s, a few paces from the famous shops of the Nanjing Xi Road, this modern jewel is well balanced, between hotel and luxury cosy residence. A bow to urban and stylish architecture born from the combination of many designers that Yen Wong, owner of the hotel, reveals to the wise travellers.

The JIA Shanghai is full of passages sprinkled with lively colours and a touch of humor. This upscale hotel also has its fantasy side, with the lobby entirely inspired by eclectic and staggering designs, combining ultramodern furniture and velvety textiles. A fecund style that’s full of surprises, especially in the 55 rooms designed by the BURO Architects agency. The combination between green, white, and wood dresses up elegantly the retro-pop art walls by Russel Wong.

The Issimo restaurant, designed by the Pure Creative team, deserves that you spend some time at its tables. Chef Salvatore Cuomo celebrates here the authentic Italian cuisine in a rustic but chic setting. The famous Napolitan pizze with cherry tomatoes are the main event in what is said to be the ultimate place for gastronomic experience in Shanghai.

Rates: from 114€ for a studio room and 415€ for the one bedroom penthouse.
