Le Grand Hotel Tours gets the Art Deco style triumph

With Le Corbusier, Pierre Chareau, french architect and designer (1883-1950), initiated this modern movement wherein glass and steel mingle elegantly with wood. In 1929, he imagined a hotel in Tour, Le Grand Hotel, splendid demonstration of that new spirit of which period intellectual travallers delight.
Meublier, according to its own expression, Pierre Charreau will establish himself as the creator of the most surprising of the Art Deco. In closely collaboration with the architect Maurice Boille, he will create an unique place thank to a fancy furniture, a mix of strictness, ingenuity and charm. We can’t rely anymore upon stools,card tables or on the regilieuse so representative of its style. The carpets have an eclipse form and the luminaries, its favorite area, offer an opposition metal (black) albaster (white) elegantly controled. An aesthetic which don’t get older….
For the comfort and the modernity, the 104 rooms of the Grand Hotel de Tours have just been renovated, preserving this uncluttered simplicity which delight the contemporary chic and design hotel business’ lovers. With this fantastic view on the station of Tour (the building is registered historic monument for its facade composed by cast iron, stone, iron and glass, and its two glass roofs created by the architect Victor Laloux, who comes from Touraine). Grand Hotel is also an incontrovertible place thank to its bar, Le Chareau. This one is in the old reading lounge imagined in 1930 by the designer. A hotel full of history which exhale a wonderful period of time when the french architecture dared create magnificient works.
Rates: From 80€ to 120€ for a standard room (1 or 2 persons), from 65€ to 140€ for a deluxe room and from 110€ ( up to 3 persons) to 160€ the superior room ( up to 4 persons).
