Liana Yaroslavsky: exuberance in pure state
• 30 Apr, 2009 • Catégorie: Fashion and design •The designer Liana Yaroslavsky loves to surprise her little world. Nostalgia for a bygone era (Versailles and its majesty) where baroque and magnificence style were the watchwords of a generation of beauty and art, Liana mop between Drouot and flea markets where she discovered priceless pieces before recycling them and diverting them from their main goal. The crystal chandeliers of Murano, the floor of Versailles, the crystals of Czechoslovakia or the watercolors of the nineteenth century, find themselves locked in a coffee table, a true work of art.
The result is indefinable, between art and design, classicism and modernism, the observer that I am, is baffled but curious to learn more about her secrets capture. After all, Liana captures the history of these unique items and then locked them in her tables.
I have an inclination for three pieces: «L’Esquisse», one of her first creations, «Pluie» which was inspired from the movie Blade Runner with its Bohemian crystals that turn into raindrops, and «O2 Variations», 100 blown glass ball from Murano, weightlessness hung over a parquet of Versailles, represents the lightness of soul. The magic, the greatness, a bit of childhood, and we get haute couture coffee tables, luxurious as we want it.

Esquisse
Address recommended by Laurence Guinebretière, Hotel Edouard VII (Paris 2nd arrondissement).
