Negresco Nice: makeover for the museum-hotel
• 12 Nov, 2009 • Catégorie: Let's talk about it •One of the jewels of the French luxury hotels, the Hotel Negresco in Nice, is set to start in January 2010 for extensive renovations and beautification. Reopening scheduled for 1st July 2010. In total, nearly 10 million euros will be invested in transforming the luxury hotel, conceived as a showcase of French art by his owner, Jeanne Augier.

Open since 1912, this museum-hotel has been classified a historical monument in 2003. A classification that requires the intervention of an architect of buildings in France, Pierre-Antoine Gatier. The facades will be entirely redone, the 5th floor will become an “executive floor” fully privatized with direct elevator, bar and 5 suites.

The marbles, the paintings of the Grand Salon Royal, and the canopy on the ground floor will be fully restored in a spirit of conservation while bringing a modern touch, as with removable veranda where you can lunch or dinner summer and winter. The restaurant “La Rotonde” would be expanded.
