Plaza Athenee Paris: the new Galerie des Gobelins is magic
• 18 Nov, 2008 • Catégorie: News & trends, Paris •Our favorite Parisian palace just revisited the Galerie des Gobelins, giving carte blanche to the designer Pascale Benhamou. The result is magic and very haute couture. Columns are dressed in extra white glass photophores, crystal way, the soil looks like a carpet of mosaics with shades of sienna, terracota and bronze. Magic, the invitation to relax even more voluptuous in the sofas in velvet, bronze, gray or taupe silk. Pillows, embroidered by hand, are signed Maison Lesage.
The lights have been revisited too, with a greedy and amber lighting. The shades are adorned with hammered metal, the crystal pampilles in suspension reflect the light entering from the garden, and the wood tailor-made furniture are dressed in gold slightly pink.
Chic shopping or lunch break, two inevitable styles on the Avenue Montaigne, the Galerie des Gobelins in the Plaza Athénée offers fashionable gourmet dishes, revisited also on parades of haute couture houses of Paris. Salads and hors d’oeuvres are transformed into “Petites robes d’été”, the snack become the” Start the show”, the tea time is celebrated with “Collection Printemps et Thés”, and hot dishes are the “Fashion chaud”. An amusing order for a real pleasure.
Average price: 36 € for breakfast, 35/50 € for lunch, 25 € for tea break (with pastries).
