San Francisco: the eldorado of American design
• 2 Jul, 2009 • Catégorie: Let's talk about it •The Personality Hotels group, owners of the Diva Hotel in San Francisco, has just redecorated two of its hotels: The Frank and the Vertigo. San Francisco is the most European city in the United States, and has a design spirit from the 50’s that’s inspired by the old continent.
The Vertigo is homage to the Alfred Hitchcock movie in which James Steward and Kim Novak starred. In a big and complete conversion of the rooms, hallways and lobby, into a more eclectic style, the Vertigo Hotel has adopted some glamorous aspects: shining white, orange, and purple. Colours and porcelain animals are giving a fancy look to the visitor has he is waiting for his room at the reception. It is the same thing in the bathrooms, with a white crocodile -skin-like textile that’s replacing the old tile.
The Frank, as for him, is very daring with its fifties universe that is felt in the rooms, reminding the American dinners. Urban and chic, the decoration is as audacious as the lobby, where a giant green crystal ceiling lamp is keeping its eyes on the visitors. Located in the heart of the arty Union Square, the Frank Hotel is an exclusive spot for those who dream of shopping. Two hotels, two stories, but different styles.
