The Institut du Monde Arabe: discovering a great culture
• 11 Jun, 2009 • Catégorie: Culture •By inventing mathematics, building pyramids, the Arab civilization hasn’t stopped shining throughout the centuries. This rich and full-of-surprise civilization would deserve a foundation, a monument doing justice to this rich and never ending knowledge. The Institut du Monde Arabe, established a few steps from the Plants Garden in the 5th arrondissement, is a museum, a library, a cultural center and a restaurant all in the same time, with a splendid view on the Notre Dame de Paris and Ile Saint Louis at the top floor. The institute is hosting its 10th music festival in June.

Open everyday except on Mondays. The library is open from 1pm to 8pm and closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Address recommended by Laurent Inchauspé, Hotel Des Académies et des Arts (Paris 6ème arrondissement).
