In Chicago, Barack Obama is not the only one to love contemporary art! Stylish and timeless luxury boutique hotel, The James Hotel also opted in for a refreshing artistic dimension. By partnering with the Art Gallery Monique Melloche and the Art Institute of Chicago, the hotel almost ordinary becomes an exceptional place to stay. The James has seen a  complete reversal in its situation and now owns a permanent collection of contemporary works and regularly organizes temporary exhibitions, including young American artists.

You have understood, The James Hotel is obviously addressed to contemporary art lovers. From the lobby, visitors are invited to reflect on the meaning of the works displayed. Fans of the great American outdoors will choose the room 28 decorated by the artist Joel Ross where the vintage suitcases stacked on each other echo the atmosphere of a Texas motel.

We found this arty atmosphere at the hotel restaurant, the Primehouse. On the walls are black and white photographs of the old slaughterhouses pay homage to the industrial expansion of the city. Another specificity of The James Hotel, the fitness room designed by the founder of Equinox, the largest group of fitness clubs in the US, and the huge spa.
