Tiara Hotels: a glamourous and luxury hotel collection
• 13 Jul, 2009 • Catégorie: Portugal •Carlos Rosales, COO of Global Hotels & Resorts which Tiara Hotels & Resorts belongs to, explains to Hoosta his vision of a luxury exclusive personalized hospitality business through the world.

Hoosta – Where do you find the inspiration to create and decorate every single hotel that you open in such an unique way?
Carlos Rosales: The inspiration is the result of several factors that need to be taken into consideration. It is always a question of team work, and very much about the place, the culture, the feelings one has about a location and its history and past events. It’s also about the way nature and the elements can be seen and felt in that spot and how the people and communities live, etc.
Hoosta – What are you most proud of when it comes to your style of decorating?
Carlos Rosales: I’m most proud of the harmony one feels when arriving at our hotels, which gives guests the sensation of actually belonging there, something that’s felt in every flavour, in every texture and on every return visit.
Hoosta – Would you say that luxury and glamour (two very important aspects of your hotels) are felt and expressed in the same way at your properties in Cannes, Porto and Lisbon?
Carlos Rosales: No. They cannot be. If I want each unit to create unique feelings then I must be the first to feel them, first in an experimental way before having them incorporated into the project with the help of my team.
Hoosta – How do you manage to make each visitor familiar with the culture of the country in which he or she is staying?
Carlos Rosales: The hotels in the Tiara chain exemplify the true essence of the brand; a collection of unparalleled properties set in privileged locations with a truly unique atmosphere and designed with great respect for the local culture.
This is the philosophy that determines and drives the selection criteria for each unit in respect of its location, architectural composition, integration within the local environment, reflection of the area’s cultural richness and of the community it represents.
In short, each Tiara property is a unique place that reflects the culture of the local surroundings through the gastronomy and services we provide our guests, making it a destination in itself.
Hoosta – Tell us about the hotels you’ll be opening in the future.
Carlos Rosales: Before talking about our new hotels, I’d like to mention the Tiara Yaktsa Cannes, another prime example of the Tiara Hotels & Resorts brand which will open its doors for the first time on Sunday the 12th of July.
Regarding the future, I can tell you that we are currently working in conjunction with the architect Francis Metzger on the restoration of the Hotel Astoria in Brussels, a property renowned for its architecture and historical richness all over the world. It will, without doubt, add even more pride and glamour to the Tiara chain.
At the same time, we are in the process of developing a luxury residential tourism project at Ponta Bicuda on Santiago in the Cape Verde Islands, which includes two five-star hotels, the Tdju and Cor di Mar.
