USA: the preferred design hotels by Parisian hoteliers
• 2 Jul, 2009 • Catégorie: Suggestions •Because summer is for many the opportunity to roam the land of Uncle Sam, hotels and team members of Hoosta Magazine reveals their love at first sight hotels in the US. New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, for the visit it’s here …
New York
Vincent Tissier, general manager of the Bel-Ami Hotel, Saint Germain des Pres
«I would say the Huntington Hotel & Nob Hill Spa in San Francisco because when I am there, it feels like home. A feeling that is given through a great and quality service and the nice concierge who’s welcoming you behind his desk. The new decoration in the (spacious!) rooms is very successful, the quality restaurant has a nice little upscale pub atmosphere and the spa is very cosy, sober and relaxing with great care. The hotel has an old fashion style but in a good way, respecting the authentic hospitality standards without being all dusty. On top of that, some Frenchmen are serving at the restaurant, including one who has Monsieur Royal’s voice!… And the French toasts are delicious! I love it!»

Agnès de Bousquet de Florian, Hotel Plaza Athenee, Paris 8th arrondissement
«I absolutely love the New York Palace Hotel for its location on Madison as well as its terrace suites on the 54th floor, expanding your view over the city, the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. Magic !»

Nathalie Heckel, owner of Jeu de Paume Hotel, Ile Saint Louis, Paris 4th arrondissement.
«One of the best memories in USA is Washington Square Hotel in New York. It is located in Greenwich . I love this romantic, very pleasant and with a view on the Washington Park. Not luxury but very charming, the rooms are small but each one of them is beautiful. The lobby has an arty decoration. It feels like home.»

Cécile Jayet, Hoosta Magazine’s Editor in Chief
«The Gershwin Hotel is my favourite hotel in New York because it perfectly reflects the New York vibe! Artists and young top models are regularly stopping by this hotel with a YMCA trendy chic atmosphere. My favourite room? The Picasso, spacious, comfortable, cosy, perfect with hardwood floor and old fashion bathroom, with a bow window depicting the typical brick buildings. A true myth!»

San Francisco
Sandy Pérolle, writer at Hoosta Magazine
«The Hotel des Arts in San Francisco is great with its painted contemporary rooms. I have a preference for the 504 room by Sugarluxe, a girly, colourful, with heroines straight out from CD covers by Jason Brooks for the house music label Hed Kandi. Moreover, the hotel is located right in the French area, which is a way for me to keep in touch with my origins and meet new people!»

Chloe, a contemporary traveler
«Whenever I get to go to San Francisco, I choose the Diva Hotel. I love this city, it reminds me my childhood spent in the most European of American cities. I attended for a semester the Berkeley University during the 90’s.
The Diva Hotel is located in Union Square, which is perfect for me, since all I have to do is cross the square to get to Macy’s for shopping!
But it is not the only reason why I love to be there: this hotel is ideal for a trip with the kids. My daughter Lucie loves to disguise herself with the accessories provided by the hotel, and eat the sparkling and multi-coloured cupcakes!»

Los Angeles
Orso Filippi, CEO of Hoosta Magazine
«The Palihouse is a well-located hotel in Los Angeles with a French-inspired deco and a superb restaurant. An intimate and surprising place compared to hotels we usually see in L.A»
